Volunteer
Be the one to make a difference…Volunteer!
Boys & Girls Clubs of East Texas welcome those in the community who want to support our efforts by volunteering. You will be amazed what even one hour can do to impact the life of a child for a lifetime. From the smile of a child who finally understands a math concept, or the hug given after reading a story, or the laughter heard during an air hockey match…you will be changed as much as the lives you have come to change.
For volunteer opportunities, download and print an application.
Our children's safety at the Clubs is our number one priority; therefore we require a background check on volunteers who work directly with our children.
The completed application should be mailed to:
Boys & Girls Clubs of East Texas, 504 W. 32nd St., Tyler, TX 75702

The Boys & Girls Clubs of East Texas is a solid investment in the future of my community. Each week, I have the privilege to spend a couple of hours nurturing the tiniest seeds of potential in the children of Douglas Elementary. I take off work a bit early to volunteer once a week with the Boys & Girls Club “SMART Girls” after school program where we’re encouraging young girls to develop the character qualities and self-esteem they need to succeed in life. Just talking about life over a game of “Connect 4,” “Concentration” or a feisty game of tetherball is all it takes to water the seeds.
The dedicated team of BGC staff members met me at the campus, showed me the ropes, introduced me to the children, led by example and made sure I felt my time volunteering was a positive experience. I was looking for an opportunity to serve my community and direct my extra time and energy into something that mattered. For me, the BGC is a perfect fit. It doesn’t take a lot of time to make a small difference in a child’s future.
Mary Ann owns Fluency, Inc. in Tyler, TX. She has yet to beat any BGG child at Connect 4, but she’s working on it. When she’s not sharpening those skills, she enjoys time with her family, friends and church.
